Food
March 16th, 2007
I can’t believe how much free food there always is at my office. Bagels, sandwiches, cookies, chocolate, doughnuts, and more. When it isn’t free, it’s nearly free and being sold for a good cause: pastries for breast cancer; root beer floats for hunger; chocolate for youth sports.
At the same time, the company is pushing a “get fit” initiative, so there are posters up about being active and classes scheduled about losing weight.
The battle is on: food versus fitness.
I experience the same thing everyday. I work at a construction site for a major power company. In our office trailer’s kitchen, we have a fridge fully stocked with most major pop brands. The counter is covered with all sorts of goodies: granola bars, peanut butter pretzels, cookies, chips, peanuts. It is interesting to see how people react the first time they walk in and see all the food that the company provides.
food wins!
who will win? a battle to the death!
