SoaP

I just got back from Snakes on a Plane. Much to my surprise, it wasn’t too bad. Sure, the premise is ludicrous, but once you get beyond that, it’s fairly decent. I was almost — dare I say it? — impressed by the filmmaker’s attention to detail. Sure, they had the wrong fire trucks at LAX, but they gave reasonable explanations for many of the plot elements.
I wasn’t expecting much from SoaP; I was shocked when it turned out to be more than just the hype. Go see it.
Is it supposed to be comedy or horror? I haven’t figured that one out yet. I just picture Jules Winnifeld from Pulp Fiction in an ESPY like performance, but this time, a full length movie.
It’s hard to pin down. I’d say it’s a horror movie that’s meant to be over the top. It certainly has many comedic elements, among them an amusing “mile high club” scene. Samuel L. Jackson is a badass throughout the film; whenever he’s in grave danger (which is very often), he summons Jules Winnfeld to save the day. The film makers have admitted pandering to the Internet audience by adding violence and sex, but they did it well.
your comments thingie is not working.
i’ve thought this many a time before as well. it has screened a couple of my comments off.
Interesting….
It seems that my spam filters might be a bit too aggressive. I’ve just implemented some changes that will allow me to see why they are failing.
Sorry about the dropped comments!
No problem, except now I forget what I wanted to show you! Instead, go look at the costume I wore to SoaP on Friday
