New things
In the recent past, I decided that I would make the most of my youth and start doing the things that I’ve always wanted to do. I started playing hockey, I learned to snowboard, and I’m going to Europe (twice!) among other things.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to motivate myself to do anything. It might be a function of the end of my terms as Associate Educator and MC in Pike, or maybe it’s a classic case of Senioritis. The differential diagnosis is inconclusive.
In any case, I’ve decided to add a twist to my life: I’m going to run a triathlon in May. Challenging? Oh, hell yes. Even more so when you consider my athletic prowess or lack thereof. It’s not a joke — I’m going to give it my best shot. Even if it means stumbling across the finish line. I’m going to do it.
YES! That is AWESOME. Everyone make sure he works out! I am very very proud…
More ambitous then I am…but I am doing the 5K run on May 8th…shameless plug for Fireman’s 5K run hosted by Pike 🙂
oh yes, how awesome it is! i can’t wait to see it and everything…yet without any doubt i know that keacher can do it. hell, i might even try to do it now! LINEAGE TRIATHLON!!!
As long as I can still bike with my messed up knee I’m so in.
LINEAGE TRIATHLON (we haven’t split up k’allen yet have we?)
Excellent Keach…may I inquire as to which triathlon you will be running, biking, and swimming? Accenture hosts on in Chicago (in August) if you have yet to sign up for one…I’ll be participating in that one, if you would like some company 🙂
Last night I registered for the Terre Haute Triathlon to be held on May 15. I’ll see how that one goes before committing to more 🙂
Don’t forget that your Uncle Phil has done many triathlons–including nearly drowning in the first one–decades ago!!! Oh, that was painful to watch. BUT–he completed Ironmans, and some outrageous races. Get in with your friends or a local club for training and GO FOR IT!!!
remember the battaman – overboard south beach diet + running addiction = broken ass knee and can’t do shiat for awhile. slow and steady does not just apply to the tortoise and drinking beer at ms. extreme’s. nobody wants to see a broke-ass keacher mid-spring quarter.
